July
20-23, 2000...ComicCon
Over
25 of us went to what becomes our favorite convention of the
year. The huge dealer room was a showplace for many
of the group's costumes, and we took Best Presentation for our
skit, "Who Wants to Marry a Millionaire".

June 23-25, 2000...AgamemCon
Over 20 of us gathered for one of our favorite conventions
of the year. We were extremely proud to see several of
our members win in the masquerade. Photos coming soon.
May 29, 2000...BayCon over a dozen members attended
this literary convention in costumes ranging from anime Eswat
to biker scouts. Saturday night's Xwing pilot party saw
over 100 guests by the night's end.

May 12, 2000...Star Wars wedding!
50 guests, largely comprised of SWFO members, gathered for
the long awaited wedding of founder Janell Ware and costumer
Michael Schiffbauer. They were escorted by a blue
honor guard, passed beneath a military arch of lightsabers,
and Darth Vader attempted to object to the marriage! Photos

January 1,2000... San Diego Star Wars: Magic of Myth Exhibit
About 7 of our eclectic group descended upon Museum row
in San Diego, loaded down with video tape, cameras, and film,
to check out the props and costumes on display. It was
quite a way to ring in the New Year! Exhibit

September 11-13... Space:1999/Breakaway Convention
About 8 of us showed up on Sunday and met a few of the stars
from this classic tv series. The dance was great!
They did a countdown to "breakaway" at midnight, and recreated
part of the set quite convincingly. Janell's Maya outfit
even had the series' stars doing double takes; they thought
she was former cast member Catherine Schell! PHOTO
August 26-29, 1999...NASFIC
I saw probably about 20-25 of our group at some point during
this weekend. The Con Suite was fabulous! I've never
seen bagels with lox, cream cheese, and the works offered!
Some of our members belonging to costuming groups entered the
masquerade, and won three awards total! We're waiting
for more photos. Photo

August 13-15, 1999...ComicCon
About 15-20 of us met up throughout the weekend and had
a blast! Though we did not enter the masquerade this year,
our member Mike Schiffbauer and a couple others could be seen
on the trailer for a Battlestar Galactica remake which was pitched
to studios in September. Photo

September 23, 1996….Planet Hollywood Dinner
10 of us met up at Planet Hollywood in Beverly Hills, CA
to rendezvous with a member who had flown in all the way from
New Jersey on other business. It was a blast, and since
there are so many prop and memorabilia collectors in the group,
PH's atmosphere was perfect! There was even a Darth Vader
costume on display.
