Predator Homepage - Poncho's Guide

Released in 1987, the Predator is one of the best action sci-fi movie ideas ever made. The original Predator movie stared Arnold Schwarzenegger, and a cast of other buff commandos (including ex-wrestler and now Minnesota Governor Jesse "I ain't got time to bleed" Ventura).

In the movie, an elite rescue squad has been called in to rescue some government personal whom had been shot down and captured by guerillas in enemy territory (deep within the jungle of course). These "best of the best" soldiers stumble upon clues that this is no normal rescue mission. (The skinned Green Beret team hanging in the tree's for one). They find the hostages dead and take out the guerilla's. Then the real fun begins when the Predator takes a keen interest in this group of human hunters. Predator stuff for sale

	Major Dutch, leader of the "Rescue" squad that ran into the Predator. This type of Arnold is what I grew up with, Predator and Commando. He just did it so well, and with such brute force. Also had some of his all time one liners, like "If it bleeds, we can kil it", "Stick Around", "Knock Knock", "Kill me i'm here....", "Your one ugly mother#&%@#", and a few more.
	Poncho was probably the most realistic looking U.S. Commando in the bunch. Looking more like he spent time training than just body building. Played by Richard Chaves who later became the star of the T.V. series 'War of the Worlds', where he played another military role as a Colonel. "Got time to duck?"
	Ah, Governor Jesse Ventura. Where were the clips from this movie in your political campaigns. Slogans like "I ain't got time to bleed" (cause i'm to busy working for YOU the voter) and "If you loose it here your in a world of hurt" would have got my vote.
	One of the coolest guys in the bunch is Billy. Wilderness tracker extrodinare, this is one person who can make it in the jungle. Also has a 6th sense about being stalked by the Predator. "There's something out there waiting for us......and it ain't no man." "We're all gonna die".
	Dillion was a former mate of Dutch years before this movie was suppost to take place. However he traded his green vest in for a loosely wore tie with the CIA. I wonder if he or that general guy were the ones responsible for NOT equipping the group with Night Goggles, Scopes, Night Vision, Heat Sensors, ear plug (low range) communication gear (so they don't have to yell), or anything else a high priority Special Forces team would have?
	Mac indeed had some fun. At least until he noticed 3 red dots forming on his arm and then onto his head. Mac was Blains best friend and had one of the cooler lines, "Your ghosting us mother#&%@#, I don't care who you are back in the world, you give our position one more time, I'll bleed you, real quiet, and leave ya here....got that!" Dillion didn't take fancy to that.
	I suppose poor hawkins was at near the bottom of my favorite characters, but at least he had lots of "girl friend" jokes. (Which would not be suitable to quote here)
	Why was she in this movie? I am not really sure, i guess to make it a more family appealing film, with at least one innocent person who makes it out. I was really cheering for poor old Poncho at the end, but i guess he got the wrong end of that plasma blaster.
	The real star of the movie! This Predator was played by Kevin Peter Hall, more famous for playing Chewbacca in the Star Wars Trilogy. The Predator is from an advanced tribe based race of aliens whom quite enjoy hunting - the more cunning, intelligent and dangerous the better. He landed in a central American jungle and has been hunting there, where he was just luckey enough to run into Special Forces commander, General Hopper (now deceased), and Major Dutch.
