File No. 628767-DS-1014-G
SUBJECT: Sprite
A photogenic media darling and one of the most visible of Miami's metahumans, Sprite's high-visibility profile has allowed ongoing PRIMUS observation procedures to provide extensive cross-referenced file material. There are in fact two Sprites, one blonde and one brunette. The blonde refers to herself as Thena, the brunette as Selune. With the exception of hair color and certain personality traits, the two appear to be exact twins. This has become widely known in Miami and beyond. The Sprite twins have become the focus of several Internet sites (see attached file for complete history of PRIMUS observation of these sites and material therein) and have appeared on several magazine covers (although never in the same photo together).
Official observation-record cross-reference indicates the blonde prefers to operate during the daytime, the brunette prefers to operate at night. There are documented instances when this has not been the case, but those occurrences constitute less than five percent of recorded first- or second-hand sightings. Several of the Internet sites, five magazine stories, and dozens of news items have suggested the twins rotate their "on-call status" because of personal reasons, possibly familial (see attached File No. 455-TH-8908-B). The National Organization of Women has even gone so far as to nominate the Sprite twins for "working mothers of the year" recognition, but with a suitable verification disclaimer.
PRIMUS observation and psychological profiles indicate both Sprites are highly capable, possess an excellent tactical sense, but are given to emotionalism, flirtatiousness, and a certain frivolous nature that may even border on Attention Deficit Disorder. Both the blonde and brunette seem to be, in a word, "flighty."
The first appearance of the Sprite twins as vigilantes cannot be accurately qualified. Unlike most of Miami's new costumed crime-fighters, the twins are known to have several criminal metahuman foes - the Banshee most notably - whose history obviously predates their initial public exposure on file.
The Sprite twins have been issued a PRIMUS Threat Level Designation of Five (5). Agents should use caution if in a situation of potential conflict, given each twin's extensive metahuman abilities. However, each twin's abhorrence to killing or harming innocents is well documented. PRIMUS psychological analysis suggests this abhorrence may even border on the pathological. In a conflict situation against law enforcement agencies, the most likely scenario is that one or both of the twins would either flee or use minimal force to accomplish a set goal.
IDENTITY: Unknown (Rebekah Barrett)
HEIGHT: 5'6"
WEIGHT: 115 lbs.
HAIR: Blonde-Thena; Brunette-Selune
EYES: Emerald Green
RACE: Caucasian
APPEARANCE: Each of the Sprite twins appears to be a curvaceous, alluring, and breathtakingly beautiful young woman of approximately twenty-three years of age. Apparel typically consists of a green and white, spandex body suit, green or white boots, a metallic molded mask that rises high above the eyebrows to points, and a pair of wickedly spiked metallic forearm bracers.
Both of the Sprite twins have demonstrated energy manipulation abilities: the generation of destructive electro-magnetic blasts of varying intensity, the ability to surround oneself in a glowing force field, and the ability to generate luminescence of varying intensity. Most curious is the presence of fairy wings that allow her to fly and seem to coalesce from energy to matter, slicing through whatever each twin might be wearing that covers her back. Other known metahuman abilities include the ability to change physical size (human-sized or smaller - down to about six inches - only have been observed to date), and a remarkable healing ability. It is possible that the Sprite twins possess heretofore unknown metahuman abilities as well.
Major facts that PRIMUS does not know...
In reality, Sprite is the Three-Who-Are-One: three immortals whose essences have been combined into a single corporeal form. They are Oghma, a powerful being known as the Binder of Demons in ancient days who was worshipped as the Celtic God of Knowledge; Thena, a blonde fairy nymph possessed of a glib attitude and noble bearing; and Selune, an enigmatic brunette fairy nymph with an unbridled exuberance for life, one of the Eldren - the firstborn of the most ancient of days. Thena and Selune control the physical body, alternating as to which personality is dominant (along with attendant changes in hair color). Generally, Thena is dominant during daylight hours. Selune is dominant at night. Oghma is able to manifest at all times, but only as a disembodied entity who can but act as an adviser to the fairy nymphs. Frustrated at his new limitations, he tends to drone on with silent comments only they can hear mentally (although the immortal sorcerer Winter has proven to be able to "hear" Oghma as well).
Sprite currently is trying to maintain her "secret identity" despite being forced to deal with changing hair color, the outward physical manifestation of altering dominance between Thena and Selune. Thus far, it has worked.
