· TEMPLETON BAKER: Lean and middling tall, this not-quite-forty archaeologist works with Florida area museums through the Vanderbrooke Memorial Trust Foundation, and also is a visiting professor at the University of Miami's School of History. He is the friend and confidante of the metahuman Sprite. An intensely inquisitive individual, Baker is somewhat frustrated by having access to an actual witness to millennia of human culture, but one who refuses to shed light on all but a few historical mysteries, citing vague rules of conduct. Whose rules, he wonders, which only intensifies his innate curiosity into discovering the answers.

· ANDREW BAXTER: The current All-American, the fourth to so hold that title, although only the second with any actual super powers. He is young, idealistic, a bit brash, but capable when not consumed by his own sense of self-importance. He possesses powers and abilities similar to but not exactly like the first All-American - Rick Majors. Baxter is a handsome twenty-something, quite aware of the attraction young women seem to have toward him. Still, he is capable and good hearted, if somewhat inexperienced. His main fault is that he is well aware that he has no chance of measuring up to the legacy of the original All-American.

· CARLETON BRICE: The Silver Avenger originally assigned to the city of Orlando, an old posting that was on tap to be dissolved upon his retirement from PRIMUS. Brice assumed Silver Avenger duties for the southeastern region of the United States upon the death of Travis Hatcher at the hands of The Hexagon on La Isla Casanegra. Brice is a tall man, very capable, but wears his emotions on his sleeve - a side effect of the Cyberline treatment that gives him superhuman abilities.

· AGENT CARSON: A short, wiry, and seemingly always belligerent operative for the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency who appears like Michael J. Fox in perpetual shades. Matrix once referred to Carson as the "obligatory, governmental roadblock." Indeed, Carson often seems to be at odds with the metahuman community, whom he believes are all freaks wearing jammies who think they can go anywhere, anytime, and do almost anything they want without regard for the long-range objectives of the U.S. government.

· DOUGLAS CARVER: A city editor for the Miami Herald. The immediate superior of Patrick Kent (Matrix) and Megan Marlowe. Carver fluctuates between frustration at having Kent disappear so often and support for his reporter in that the man always seems to come up with a big story upon his reappearance. Still, Carver frequently can be heard to say, "Our beloved publisher and CEO just left road tracks across my backside for your latest little trick, so whatever story you've got had better be Pulitzer Prize material."

· EVIL CAT: A foundling feline adopted by Patrick Kent (Matrix) and several members of the Miami Herald news staff. This totally ungrateful furball is noted for its nasty temper.

· ANGELA COOPER: The girlfriend du jour of Jarod Mace (Morningstar). She is pretty much the stereotypical beach bunny and starving actress, currently working as a waitress to pay the bills and doing the occasional modeling assignment at automobile shows.

· GIANNI DELASANDRO: A Miami-based "importer-exporter" of Italian-American heritage. He is suave, dark-haired, with piercing dark eyes and an easy smile. That he is not entirely on the up and up is widely rumored in the antiquities profession. Still, he is a major donor to Florida area museums and has some type of recognizable business arrangement with Rebekah Barrett (Sprite). Some in Dade County law enforcement call him the Black Knight: charming, possessing a code of honor that makes his word his bond, protective of family and friends but ruthless with those he perceives to be enemies.

· DETECTIVES LAKE and BILLINGS: This female-male team is the Miami Police Department's most successful pair of detectives, intelligent and resourceful. They are given special status instead of being assigned to a particular division, and often are given the cases that involve metahumans. Both have interrogated Jarod Mace (Morningstar), and the ape-like Billings also has met Jarod in his costumed identity - when the detective offered illicit aid to the young hero.

· AGENT MICHAEL DONOVAN: One of the inner circle of PRIMUS operatives that count Florida among the states under their supervision. Donovan is obviously quite intelligent, with a keen eye for the legal and political ramifications of acts undertaken by PRIMUS and its metahuman allies. He also has demonstrated expertise with tactical situations, both military and otherwise. Donovan currently is acting as legal counsel for Matrix and Beholder during the fallout of the "Tortureland" episode in addition to his normal duties, with the full knowledge and support of PRIMUS officials.

· DUN: Jolene Rasmussen's seeing-eye dog. People tend to marvel at the communication between the two, and how Jo seems to almost instinctively know what Dun needs and vice versa.

· GARY FIELDS: An officer with the Miami Police Department, recently appointed to detective status and assigned to the department's Vice Division. He has developed a burgeoning cooperative relationship with the hero Morningstar, and has even provided the vigilante with illicit aid upon occasion.

· JOHN GAUNT: The mysterious Mr. Gaunt - not his real name, merely a nom de guerre based on his appearance - is a fifty something former covert operative with an unnamed government agency and current member of the National Security Council's Metahuman Resource Committee. He is extremely smart, and seems to know pretty much everything about everything to some degree or other. He is manipulative without being nefarious. It is very clear that beneath the polished exterior lies a very dangerous and capable individual. That he has some plan for a number of metahuman heroes is quite clear (mainly because he has announced his intentions). Gaunt is the driving force behind the formation of an officially sanctioned team of costumed metahumans that can be called upon in times of emergency without risking government or military secrets.

· AGENT CLAIRE HARDIN: A Florida-based PRIMUS field commander who leads squads of agents into front line action. She is whipcord thin, with a personality that hits like a hammer between the eyes. However, it is equally clear that she is extremely competent, respected by her fellow agents, and has a discerning eye about who to trust, who is lying, and who should be blown to "itty bitty particles of proto-matter."

· TRAVIS HATCHER: PRIMUS' recently deceased Silver Avenger for the southeastern region of the United States, a daunting job given the area is a hotbed for criminal activity and political intrigue. Hatcher's every movement and action bespoke of military precision. He was extremely capable, but something of a cold fish, having little empathy with the concerns of those around him save the dictates of the job at hand - a character flaw that occasionally created conflict when a kind word or more in-depth explanation would have solved matters before they flared up. Hatcher was slain by Pandora on Casanegra Island, during a rescue attempt in the "Watery Grave" affair. View Travis Hatcher's character sheet.

· J. TYLER HUGHES: Noted activist and wielder of considerable political influence, Hughes is a self-proclaimed champion of protecting nature's resources, especially the Everglades. This, of course, has brought him into direct conflict with Florida's sugar industry. A more intense conflict between industry and environmentalism rarely can be found in the world, and J. Tyler Hughes is a worthy champion for his side. He is also a spokesperson for halting development of the South's coastal areas, a cause that has brought him the ire of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina's real estate industries and praise by environmental groups nationwide. This forty-something Florida native is quite wealthy, and a media magnet. His family is the major stockholder in and operates Hughes Commodities, Inc., an international food conglomerate. Hughes stepped forward publicly to support Amy Rogers and the metahumans involved in the "Tortureland" affair.

· MAJOR GALEN KNIGHT: The mysterious commanding officer of the specialized military team stationed at Miami's Coast Guard research station during the "A Watery Grave" episode. Charismatic and possessed on an obvious tactical sense, the major is a commanding presence who often seems to be one step ahead of whatever is happening. Morningstar is of the opinion that the tall, well-built mystery man is actually the out-of-costume Centurion - a hero who has been active in battling villainous metahumans since the early 1960s. But that couldn't be, could it? Knight appears to be in his late thirties or early forties, too young to have had such a longstanding career in the service of society and his country. View Centurion's character sheet.

· BEAU LANDRY: This good ole' southern boy and his wife gave Patrick Kent and Megan Marlowe a ride to Mercy Hospital following the attack on the All-American in Orlando. That he enjoyed giving Megan the eye was obvious to both Kent and Mrs. Landry, a twenty-something who turned a little shade of green but kept her opinions to herself. He is a huge Matrix fan.

· CONSTANCE MACE: The mother of Jarod Mace (Morningstar). Connie Mace finds herself in the middle of family dysfunction between her husband and her son. She tries to play the peacemaker, meaning well but often pushing too hard. Still, neither Jarod nor his father wish to harm Connie in any way. Both love her deeply, and so sometimes find themselves thrown together when they would love to be otherwise.

· EUGENE MACE: The father of Jarod Mace (Morningstar). He is a retired rear admiral, a 30-year veteran of the U.S. Navy. Mace headed the Navy Research Division stationed at Miami's Coast Guard base for half a decade in the mid-1980s. He is somewhat ashamed that his son is a mutant, and fearful what the world would think if it became public knowledge. Eugene Mace also is the walking embodiment of the Official Secrets Act, which restricts his discussing numerous 'Top Secret' and 'Eyes Only' projects of which he took part while still on active duty. Mace has numerous contacts in the Pentagon, and can call on a surprisingly wide range of assistance when given sufficient reason.

· MEGAN MARLOWE: An attractive brunette twenty-something who works as a photojournalist for the Miami Herald newspaper. She is often partnered with Patrick Kent, the Miami Herald reporter who is secretly the metahuman Matrix. She and Kent have a habit of sharing bylines, and often are seen as a team. Unfortunately, Megan has absolutely no love whatsoever for Evil Cat.

· RON MARTIN: Television reporter for "Action 5 News." A real bunghole, who loves sticking it to Patrick Kent (Matrix) and Megan Marlowe in his zest to outdo the two print journalists for stories. He has a not-so-secret admiration and lust for Marlowe - who can't stand him.

· ARTURO MARTINEZ: An archaeologist and professor of Latin American Studies at the University of Miami. He is a good friend of Dr. Templeton Baker, and was kidnapped forcibly by Demonica of The Hexagon at the beginning of the "Watery Grave" affair. It was Martinez who got Templeton Baker and Sprite involved with the Santo Cristobal manuscript.

· RICK MAJORS: One of the world's most famous and legendary superheroes, the All-American, now retired because of a heart condition. Majors' superhuman psychokinetic abilities - giving him tremendous strength, the ability to fly, project a force field of extensive power, and an early warning kinetic sense - were augmented further as he was the foremost member of the Fraternity, that group of rare individuals whose abilities are enhanced by the collective will of a nation's people. Still a powerful figure in spite of seventy plus years of age, Majors remains a focal point of metahuman activity. He recently has begun to act as adviser to a number of Florida's heroic metahumans who were brought together initially by the renewed threat of The Hexagon. View Rick Majors's character sheet.

· THOMAS McNEIL: A detective with the Miami Police Department's Robbery Division. His manner is three-quarters business and one-quarter gruffness, but he clearly knows his job. He has come into contact with the new hero Morningstar on a couple of occasions, enough so that the metahuman feels somewhat comfortable calling the detective with a tip on crime. McNeil possesses the ability to somehow make Morningstar always feel as though he is a student in Criminology 101.

· SPECIAL AGENT VINCENT MORGAN: PRIMUS chief of operations for Dade County. He is capable and conscientious, although not necessarily as trusting of "freelance operatives" that are most metahumans not directly employed by PRIMUS.

· AGENT PIERCE: A field commander of PRIMUS's statewide Florida contingent. Pierce is good at her job, keeps a level head, is often called upon to do low-key observation or infiltration jobs, and possesses excellent leadership abilities. She is somewhat passionate about how civilians view military authority, having grown up in a multi-generation military family, although she herself pursued a career in civilian law enforcement - bucking family tradition. Pierce is the PRIMUS operative responsible for bringing Sprite into the fold during the incident at Haviland Drive during the "A Watery Grave" affair.

· AMY ROGERS: Captain of the Disney Rangers, the special police force that guards Disney property and has limited law enforcement powers in the Orlando area. She is secretly a telepath, and not above using her abilities for personal gain, although her conscience does prevent her from using her abilities in too outrageous a manner. An attractive redhead in her early thirties, Rogers would like to see the Disney Rangers recapture some of the prestige and position of the past when the group was the preeminent superhero team in the 1950s and early 1960s under the leadership of Rick Majors, the original All-American.

· ELAINE STOSSEL: A pretty young Navy ensign who is assigned to the staff of Eugene Mace, retired rear admiral, while he is at Miami's Coast Guard base. She got under the skin of Jarod Mace (Morningstar), who has found himself thinking about her on occasion since their initial meeting.

· WILSON THIERRY: Curator of the Historical Museum of Southern Florida and a friend of Dr. Templeton Baker. He is fortyish, could stand to lose twenty pounds, and very lecherous - as Thena (Sprite) found out whilst she and Baker were getting information about the Santo Cristobal manuscript. Thierry was kidnapped by The Hexagon and held on Casanegra Island with fellow captives Beholder, Templeton Baker, and Arturo Martinez until rescued by the heroes Sprite, Seraph, Morningstar, Amy Rogers, Centurion, and the late Silver Avenger, Travis Hatcher. As Baker's friend, Thierry has found himself becoming increasingly involved in metahuman goings-on, which he has taken to surprisingly well, in spite of his very noticeable fear of the Old Man, Juan-Miguel Rosa, and his minions, The Hexagon.

· MICHAEL TURNER: A twenty-something sound technician who works at the same theatrical production company as Jolene Rasmussen (Beholder). The young man obviously has eyes for Jo, and she finds him more than pleasant company. He recently took Jolene on a date to Disney's Wild Kingdom, where Jo had to step in as Beholder to stop the villainous Whisper.

· MARSHALL WASHINGTON: Special Agent Washington is a PRIMUS operative from the national branch who cuts corners and is willing to perform illegal searches and the like. He has been accused of using illegal means to make an arrest on more than one occasion. Washington is African American, tall, and built like a NFL linebacker.

· NPC Name:
