Y wing
The y wing is an old fighter used by the
Rebellion as a bomber. The Y wing is fitted with two laser cannon
and two ion cannons. The most powefull armment however is it's
two missile tubes. Like the X
wing the Y wing carries an R2 droid which is used for in
flight tasks eg emergency repairs. The Y wings have high
durablity although lower than the X Wing but moves at a much
slower rate. Like all Rebel star fighters it carries life
support, hyperdrive and shields.
The Y wing is a very veristile fighter but is let down by its lack of speed, they are well used against imperial convoys where its ion cannons can disable ships so the Rebel alliance gains the supplies and more cargo ships which are in short supply.
The Ywing has 3 parts, the cockpit at the front(which contains
the waepon systems), the central spar (which contains the 
power generator) and the ion engines either side.
The Y wing is a two man craft, where one is the pilot and
controls the laser cannons and the other is a gunner controling
the missile tubes and ion cannons.
Y wings flew in the Battle of Yavin, however only one ship survived from the two squadrons who were deployed.
