Turbo Laser
Turbo
laser batteries are turbo charged lasers which are mounted on almost all capital
ships, for use against other Capital ships, and for obital
bombardments. The Corellian corvette carries only two of these weapons but
the Star destroyer
has hundreds of these batteries.
Turbo lasers are generally equiped with their own power supply, wheras lasers run off the star ships main reactor, they are crewed by a number of indivials and have a deedicated targetting computer, however they can not target star fighters due to their size and speed so rely on luck to hit by firing manually or filling space full of energy bolts.
