Tie Bomber
The Tie bomber is a variant on the
normal TIE fighter
design, It carries an additional ordinance pod for carring
additional missiles or bombs which launch from two missile tubes.
The twin laser cannons still hang under the orginal pod as in the
Tie fighter. Due to the additional energy required to power the
missile pod the solar arrays are enlongatede and bent back
towards the pods. The TIE bomber is used both for Targets in
space such as Space stations and capital ships as well as in
atmospheres against ground Targets.
Tie bombers were deployed into the Hoth Asteroid field to bomb the Asteroids where the Falcon may have been hiding however Han Solo had piloted the Falcon deep in to a asteroid where it was safe from the explosions.
