Tie
Defender
The Tie Defender is an Imperial Fighter
which was created to be even with Rebel Star fighers, unlike the
over Ties execpt the Tie Advanced prototype, it is
equiped with shields and hyperdrive. The Tie defender is also
more heavily armed with 4 laser cannons and two ion cannons and
two missile launch tubes armed with proton torpedos and
concussion missiles. The cost of the ship however is much more
expensive than the Tie Fighter and this issured its lack of
introduction. This fighter was deployed to elite Tie fighter
squadrons and it was deployed at the Battle of Endor but it was in so little
numbers it made little difference to the Imperial defence.
