The B Wing
The B wing was designed by Admiral Ackbarin assosiation
with the Slayn and Korpil Colenies, it is a rebel starfighter
which is very slow but heavly armed It had an advanced giro
system which allowed the ship to turn about the cockpit so
reducing stress on the pilot..
It has 3 ion cannons, a laser cannon, 2 blaster and 2 torpedeo launchers. also an alternative arming could be with 3 ion cannons, 3 alser cannons and two torpedo lauchers although then the ion cannons are mounted in the pod instead of each wing so fire arcs are constricted.
It is equiped with an unique laser targeting system which allows for detailed targeting infomation at the expension of surprise. It is very hard to control so the necessary pilots which are trained to use it are few so the Rebels could not field many of these fighters however the B wing, allows a cheaper alterative to a capital ship for fighting against starships. A second ship, the B wing Expanded was a better ship with a second pilot but was little used.
Bwings were deployed in the Battle of Endor at great effect,
