Blockade Runner(Tantive IV Corellian Corvette)
The Blockade Runner is a Corellian
Corvette called the Tantive IV commanded by Captain Anchilles,
used by the Alderraam diplomatic corps and was often used by Leia Organa as a covert spying
ship becuase of its diplomatic status. Unfortunally they had to
drop their cover when Rebel Bothan spies comunicated plans of the
Death Star from
Rallitir. The Blockade runner was then persued by an Imperial Star Destroyer before being
destroyed over Tatooine.
R2D2 and C3PO used one of the Blockade runners escape
pod to carry the plans into the hands of Obi wan Kenobi and luke Skywalker.
Corellian Corvettes are armed with 6
turbolasers and had shields and a hyperdrive, but were no contest
for an imperial Star destroyer
and was acptured by destroying the gun turrets and capturing the
ship in a Tractor beam, a group of Stormtroopers lead by Darth Vader stormed the ship and after a short
firefight with Rebel soldiers captured the vessel.
