Orientation/Advanced Recruit Training Checklist

(Sea Bag Requirements are Below:)
NO MAIL CAN BE RECEIVED BY RECRUITS DURING BOOT CAMP!!
A RECENT DOD STUDY HAS SHOWN THAT THE USE OF ANTI-PERSPIRANT ON THE FEET OF MILITARY IN BOOT CAMP HAS REDUCED BLISTERS AND FOOT PROBLEMS DRAMATICALLY.
MANDANTORY!!--->Anti-perspirant  for Feet (pump spray or roll on, NO AEROSOL CANS)

Check Description of Task or Requirement
****** CADETS WILL REPORT ABOARD IN DUNGAREES WITH ATHLETIC SHOES AND NLCC BALL CAP.
Unit Co's must ensure each of the following is accomplished for every Cadet prior to requesting training:
Verify that each Cadet is physically qualified (no asthma, prescription drugs, broken bones, allergies (i.e., bee stings)), or any other debilitatiing physical condition.
Ensure that each Cadet has passed the physical fitness test and that the NSC-22 (Rev. 2/98) has been annotated.
Obtain Parents certification ( signature) on NSC-22 that the Cadet is not under a physician's care and/or taking prescription medications. (i.e. ritalin, etc.)
Ensure that the Cadet has a current I.D. Card and that enrollment period includes the entire period of the training requested.  Cadets are not eligible for training unless this requirement is met!!
Verify that each Cadet has completed at least the first three chapters of th Basic Military Requirements (BMR) Manual.
Cadets must have all seabag items required by the NSCC/NLCC Advancement and Training Manual prior to attending training. (Unit Commanders Responsibility)
Brief all Cadets and parents on Recruit Training, including Reasons for returning a Cadet early from recruit training (physical problems, sickness, discipline, etc.), cost to the parents if the cadet is returned early, an overview of what recruit training entails -- physical fitness, classroom, discipline, marching and formal graduation ceremony. The parents/cadets should be made aware of the length and cost of training.  Parents must also clearly understand that we now have an accident only insurance policy, and that pre-existing injuries are not covered.
Ensure that the NSC-22 is legible (preferably typed) and that all the blocks on the form are completed (to include cadets ID number) and that all the required signatures are obtained (i.e., CO's, parents/guardians, etc.).
UPON RECEIVING ORDERS:
Sign the NSC-24 that the cadet is physically qualified prior to delivering the recruit training order to the Cadet.
Ensure that each Cadet's record is complete and at a minimum includes:

- NSC-4*                                              - NSC-5A&B*                     - NSC-19A
- NSC-22 (Copy, Front & Back)  - NSC-23*                            - NSC-24*

*Cadets will be returned home if these forms are not in their service record upon arrival at the Training site.
