| 9 & 1/2 Ninjas | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | ? | Director: | ||||||||
| Producer: | ||||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| A spoof of kung fu movies and erotic thrillers. | ||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| A lame attempt at the over the top spoof of
the type that the Zucker Bros made famous, it teeters
between mildly amusing to sad.If you have nothing else to watch it passes as a movie but if you have a choice look for something else. |
||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| Silly little opus about some goofy girl and
a horrible ninja(?) guy who apparently fall in love while
he's suppose to be training her. Mindless but entertaining in a car accident kind of way. |
||||||||||
| A Better Tommorrow | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Chow Yun Fat | Director: | John Woo | |||||||
| Leslie Cheung | Producer: | |||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| Former hitmen team up to bring down the mob boss that double crossed them. | ||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| This thing sucks. And this is supposed to be the best of John Woo? | ||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| wow, did this bore the tears out of me. I
shit for two weeks straight trying to get it all out of
my system. Avoid it. Woo, keep your damn birds at home will ya? |
||||||||||
| Aces Go Places 3 | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Sammo Hung | Sylvia Chang | Director: | Tsui Hark | ||||||
| Karl Maka | Producer: | Raymond Wong | ||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| Sammo & Gang wander around the beach,
see Witch Doctors, try to get a girl naked through
various sneaking means and generally have fun. An oddly amusing movie. |
||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| American Samurai | |||||||||
| AKA: | |||||||||
| Starring: | Mark Decascos | Director: | |||||||
| Producer: | |||||||||
| Description: | |||||||||
| An American Baby is raised by a Samurai
family, this makes the real Samurai Son (Dacascos) angry
and he joins the Gangs. Years later the two meet in a Turkish deathmatch and need to battle it out. |
|||||||||
| Yang | |||||||||
| Billed as Bloodsport with swords, it should
have been billed as Shootfighter without Bolo. The plot
was meaningless, the preminary fights were good but Samurai fighting is dull. Conservation of movement doesn't make a good Movie fight. |
|||||||||
| Ying | |||||||||
| Dacascos can be in major fucking turds, this is one of the many. no redeeming qualities to this thing. | |||||||||
| Angefist | |||||||||
| AKA: | |||||||||
| Starring: | Melissa Moore | Director: | |||||||
| Cat Sassoon | Producer: | ||||||||
| Description: | |||||||||
| Something about a karate tournament in the
Phillippines and some bad guys running around kidnapping
the female fighters. |
|||||||||
| Yang | |||||||||
| Although Cat Sassoon is in the leading role,
Melissa Moore outact, outstrips, and out kicks the North
American Forms and Weapons Champion. Lots of nudity and desent fighting by Moore. (Not by Sassoon). |
|||||||||
| Ying | |||||||||
| Cat Sassoon. Queen of her own misfortune.
She's out gunned by B movie Queen, Melissa Moore. It's
sad when a supposed karate champion is shown up by a soft core and horror movie actress. She's out acted, out kicked, and out nuded by the great MM. Only watch for the few but very well done scenes with MM, Cat should go to the Humane Society and be put out of our misery. |
|||||||||
| Beast Cops | |||||||||
| AKA: | |||||||||
| Starring: | Anthony Wong | Director: | |||||||
| Sam Lee | Producer: | ||||||||
| Description: | |||||||||
| Three Cops (Anthony Wong, Micheal Wong, and
Sam Lee) get into a war with one of the triads after
Alphonse the Big Brother of the triad, and Tung(Anthony Wong)'s freind has to flee Hong Kong and a young psycho takes over. A great movie with odd, inapproperate monologs by all the actors. Lots of Machete fights. |
|||||||||
| Yang | |||||||||
| I love this odd little movie. Even Micheal
Wong tried to act. The odd little monologs were totally
out of place but I guess they softened the odd little machete fights. |
|||||||||
| Ying | |||||||||
| Now, accept this please. It's a Micheal Wong
film that's actually really good. It's full of retarded
humour but that makes it all the better. The Anthony Wong goes super berserk at the end is really great. |
|||||||||
| Black Mask | |||||||||||
| AKA: | |||||||||||
| Starring: | Jet Li | Lau Ching Wan | Karen Mok | Director: | Daniel Lee Yan-Kong | ||||||
| Francoise Yip | Anthony Wong | Lung Kong | Producer: | Tsui Hark | |||||||
| Description: | |||||||||||
| Jet Li is a quiet librarian who happens to
be super human. (So no haggling over late fees) Him and a
freind battle a group who is trying to take over the Triads. |
|||||||||||
| Yang | |||||||||||
| OK the plot is silly, but Jet Li kicks some serious ass in this film. So if you want action you get it. | |||||||||||
| Ying | |||||||||||
| A librarian goes bonkers when some hot chick
won't return the copy of "how to act badly without
really trying in 6 easy steps". Babes abound, ugly guys abound, action scenes abound, this dang this is abounding before your eyes. Oh, I did like it. Cameos by Anthony Wong and Xiong Xin Xin and Moses Chan. |
|||||||||||
| Blade | |||||||||||
| AKA: | |||||||||||
| Starring: | Wesley Snipes | Director: | Stephen Norrington | ||||||||
| Stephen Doff | Producer: | ||||||||||
| Description: | |||||||||||
| Blade is a half human / half vampire who needs to stop Deacon Frost a turned vampire from killing all of humanity. | |||||||||||
| Yang | |||||||||||
| This movie kicks major ass.I'm not a fan of Snipes but man can he kick ass in this film. | |||||||||||
| Ying | |||||||||||
| It out does Scream, by giving you Traci
Lords drenched in blood within the first five minutes,
then doesn't bother letting you breathe for a good hour or so. Cool fights, one would think Snipes looks mighty gay in that outfit, but you'd get a serious case of hurt if he heard you.Overall excellant movie. |
|||||||||||
| Blind Fury | |||||||||||
| AKA: | |||||||||||
| Starring: | Ruger Haur | Brandon Call | Meg Foster | Director: | Phillip Noyce | ||||||
| Terry O'quinn | Lisa Blount | Sho Kosugi | Producer: | Daniel Grodnik | |||||||
| Description: | |||||||||||
| Rutger is a blind man who drives around and kicks ass | |||||||||||
| Yang | |||||||||||
| Sometimes the VCR can be a terrible thing.
Here is what I wrote when I reviewed this film from
memory: Rutger at his best in a silly role. Its super funny, although the script didn't seem to be written that way. After rewatching this cinimatic treat heres what I have to say: This is one of the worst pieces of trash ever to be put on celluliod. I would rather watch gay porn than watch this movie agian. |
|||||||||||
| Ying | |||||||||||
| I must have been stone dead, drunk to
actually like this fetted piece of horseshit. It is so
fucking boring, then it hits you with pediphilia up the ass so hard you'd think Ron Jeremy was back there. |
|||||||||||
| Bloodfist | |||||||||
| AKA: | |||||||||
| Starring: | Don "the Dragon" Wilson | Director: | |||||||
| Producer: | |||||||||
| Description: | |||||||||
| Low budget remake of Low budget Kickboxer. | |||||||||
| Yang | |||||||||
| The actors don't live up to the high
standards of the genre. Wilson is no Van Damme. The only
redeaming thing in this thing is the sub-sub-plot of a girl following one of the lead actors all around Hong Kong. |
|||||||||
| Ying | |||||||||
| Now I know why I don't watch don " the
drag queen" wilson. Dull, boring, lacking in any
redeeming qualities, save it's good for insomnia. |
|||||||||
| BloodPact | |||||||||
| AKA: | |||||||||
| Starring: | ? | Director: | |||||||
| Producer: | |||||||||
| Description: | |||||||||
| Evil Kung Fu masters take over a town and
one kid must stop them. He learns Kung Fu at the Sholin
Temples gym. And needs to go back constantly for refresher courses until he meets the grandmaster of Kung Fu. |
|||||||||
| Yang | |||||||||
| Oh boy, The Shaw bros looked long and hard
to find this cameraman. Imagine all the bad shots in all
the Shaw bros films put in one film. And you have this film. |
|||||||||
| Ying | |||||||||
| This thing had me laughing so much, water
shot out of my nose. Jackie Chan is something in this but
it's off scene. Most of the movie is off scene too! Shaw Bros. might have let this cameraman go right after. The great mountain talking and fighting with itself is oddly thought provoking. Well, if you were as big and fairly immovable as a mountain, you might ague with yourself every now and then. We also get great shots of knees, elbows and plants having a cup of tea. Stray tops of heads wander around babbling about something the dubbers couldn't be involved in, and who could resist the sheer scope of not everything beong in one field, of course the action all took place in one field, but the cameraman was more interested in the trees over by the other field to show it. |
|||||||||
| Bloodsport | |||||||||
| AKA: | |||||||||
| Starring: | Jean-Claude Van Damme | Director: | |||||||
| Bolo Yeung | Producer: | ||||||||
| Description: | |||||||||
| Van Damme enters a the Kumite (an illegal
anything goes competition) and fights fighters up to the
ultimate challage, Bolo. |
|||||||||
| Yang | |||||||||
| Well the story sucks but the fights are great. The final fight was spoofed in Hot Shots 2. | |||||||||
| Ying | |||||||||
| Kickboxer without the funny bits.apparently.more budget less movie. | |||||||||
| Boxer's Adventure | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Meng Fei | Ko Shau Lieng | Director: | Tyrone Shu | ||||||
| Tan Tao Liang | Producer: | |||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| 4 Kung Fu masters must find out who is send
people out to get in random fights with them. The why is
never really explained. |
||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| I never thought I'd say it, but there were
too many fight scenes in this film.If you saw a stray guy
wandering by. You knew it was time for a fight to break out. I've seen porno with more set up. |
||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| Tao Tan Something has way to many fights and
absolutely no script. if utter mindless guys walking,
getting into fight for no reason, walking a little further to see other guys at random get into fights for no reason, is your thing, this fucker is loaded and cocked for your viewing gayness. |
||||||||||
| Coolie Killer | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||

| Ying | ||||||||||
| sucked fucking dingleberries. | ||||||||||
| Crime Story | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Jackie Chan | Director: | Kirk Wong | |||||||
| Kent Cheng | Producer: | |||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| Police Inspector Chan (Chan) investigates a kidnapping. | ||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| Definitely not the best work of Chan and Wong. | ||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| Crimewave | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Bruce Campbell | Director: | Sam Rami | |||||||
| Louise Lasser | Producer: | |||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| Spoof of Serial killers. | ||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| Zany spoof- stupid movie you be the judge. | ||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| stupid | ||||||||||
| Crystal Hunt | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Donnie Yen | Carrie Ng | Director: | Tsui Pak Lam | ||||||
| Sibelle Hu | Producer: | Cheung Yau | ||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| Basically three groups are looking for a Magic Crystal and end up fighting over it. | ||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| Like most Donnie Yen films, This one has lots of action but the plot is all over the place. | ||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| Deadly China Hero | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Jet Li | Director: | Wong Jing | |||||||
| ? | Producer: | |||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| Wong Fei Hung tries to save the day again.
Some bad guys try to open up a brothel in the temple next
door to Po Chi Lam and when the lam'ers find out, all heck breaks loose. Even has a fight between Li And Liu, Gordon that is. Lots of fighting, wirefu and general nonsense, but rises above itself to be truely ok. |
||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| Lots of fights and Jet Li but I didn't catch the rest. | ||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| Bad subtitles, bad effects, bad acting and alot of wire fu. A masterpiece. | ||||||||||
| Desperado | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Antonio Bandaris | Director: | Robert Rodregiuz | |||||||
| Steve Bechime | Producer: | |||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| Antonio Bandaris returns to the town where
bad guys crippled him when he was young and sets out on
revenge, with the town being caught in the crossfire. |
||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| In the right Action film Bandaris is fantastic. And in this big budget seguel to El Mariaci he is at his best. | ||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| Cool gun fights. Tolerable premise. Not
enough pussy to prevent this from being a bit on the gay
side, but if you're a chick you won't mind the director being in love with filming Bandaras in every scene Way too many shots of Tarentino make this for a hard swallow.. |
||||||||||
| Double Dragon | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Mark Decascos | Director: | ||||||||
| Robert Patrick | Producer: | |||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| Two bros, One Italian, One not(Mark
Decascos). must learn the secert of the double dragon
medalion of Robert Patrick will out act them. |
||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| I'd like to say only Dacascos fighting could
save this turd, but it didn't. That left Robert Patrick's
acting to raise this turd. Amazingly that was the best part of the film, Wow, that shows how sad the rest of the movie is. |
||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| It's sad when Robert Patrick's acting is the
best thing about a movie. That's probably the first time
those words were ever put together in all of english history. But, it's true. He over acts so badly it makes this retarded thing almost, almost watchable. But not really. |
||||||||||
| Dragon's Forever | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Jackie Chan | Director: | Sammo Hung | |||||||
| Yuen Biao | Producer: | |||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| Jackie tries to save a fishing village, I guess. | ||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| Jackie Chan, Yuen Biao, and Sammo Hung when these three get together a great movie comes out regardless of the plot. | ||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| Drive | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Mark Decascos | Director: | ? | |||||||
| Producer: | ||||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| Mark Decascos has an implant in him that
makes him superhuman. He wants to sell it to an American
Company and naturally the Hong Kong company that made it wants to stop him. |
||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| Wow!!! Decascos kicks some serious ass. If
you only see one Mark Decascos film watch this one.
Seriously it's the only good film he's been in. |
||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| cool. good kareoke. | ||||||||||
| Drunken master | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Jackie Chan | Director: | ? | |||||||
| Sam Seed | Producer: | |||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| Jackie plays Wong Fei Hung, The legendary
hero of China before he is famous. His father sends him
to learn "Drunken Fist Boxing" from his master. It ends with a long fight in the field. |
||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| Normally I hate the "Long drawn-out
fight in the field outside Shaw Bros studio" that is
the trademark of the 70's and early 80's Kung-Fu movies. But Jackie keeps this one amusing with his faces. |
||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| Jackie vs. Huang Jang Lee, in a field. I like it. | ||||||||||

funny with just the right amount of fights to not make
you question your sexuality. |

| Ying | ||||||||||
| First Strike | ||||||||||

| Producer: | ||||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| Jackie is a cop(Surprize) who skiis after
bad guys gets in an underwater fight with sharks adding
to the action and wears funny underwear. |
||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| This movie is fun to watch. It's Jackie at his goofest. | ||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| Nice action, tolorable plot, if there was one, and you see jackie's naked butt. | ||||||||||
| Fist of Legend | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Jet Li | Director: | Gordon Chan | |||||||
| Producer: | ||||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| Chen (Li) is studying in Japan and learns
his master has been murdered. He returns to avenge his
masters death but his school kicks him out because he has a Japanese girlfriend. In the end he must put everything aside to save his school against the evil Japanese General. |
||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| Li is at his best in this remake of Bruce Lee's Fist of Legend. | ||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| Cool fights, excellant job by all the
fighters, even the ones who only get their nads bunched
up. Remake of Bruce Lee's fine flick. This being far superior in my opinion. |
||||||||||
| Fist Power | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Chiu Man Chuk | Director: | Wong Jing | |||||||
| Anthony Wong | Producer: | |||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| Chiu Man Chuk must bring Wong's son across Hong Kong to him and everybody in Hong Kong tries to stop him. | ||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||

| Simon Yam | Producer: | |||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| Jeff (Fat) is a bouncer who has to save a
freind from a loan shark, and gets deeper and deeper into
the triad until a final confrontation with the boss (Yam) |
||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| It great to see Chow Yun Fat in picture made
by someone besides John Woo. This was watchable and the
scenes were memorable even if the plot wasn't. |
||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| Yam's a big boss in this one. He's bad, he's
mean, he's insane and He's GAY! it's a classic, just for
his fine performance. |
||||||||||
| Hard Target | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Jean-Claude Van Damme | Director: | John Woo | |||||||
| Lance Hendrickson | Producer: | |||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| Hendrickson runs a hunting ring that hunts down homeless people. Van Damme turns into their latest target. | ||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| This movie has alot more action than your
typical John Woo film. Amazingly Van Dammes fight
direction and Woo's Gun-Fu style actually blend together well. If only Lance's men had gone after all the damn birds. |
||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| OK, so this woo flick can be watched, but it's one of the few. | ||||||||||
| Hard-Boiled | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Chow Yun Fat | Director: | John Woo | |||||||
| Anthony Wong | Producer: | |||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| Even die hard Woo fans couldn't tell you what the plot of this one is. | ||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| With a movie this incomprehensible to his credit it's no wonder Tom Cruise picked Woo to do MI 2. | ||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| Mr. Chow is in the hospital rescuing babies
from hong kong's answer to health care, a major explosion
of the entire hospital. one way to solve malpractice suits. |
||||||||||
| Help! | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Ekin Cheng Yee Kin | Director: | Jonny To | |||||||
| Jordon Chan Siu Chun | Producer: | |||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| An amusing movie about 3 doctors who work
for the worst hospital in Hong Kong. The only time the
other doctors worked on someone was after the victim jumped off the roof and smashed their cars, They needed him alive so they could sue him. Super funny but loses some at the end with a really weird (Even by HK standards) ending. |
||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| Ekin really has some comic flare. He should stick to comedy and let others work with Wong Jing in the action stuff. | ||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| Since it's not an action movie, I was
surprised I picked up a comedy somehow. But as Hong Kong
comedies go, you will have one of the strangest movies you've ever seen along with it making you laugh quite a bit. I like this one even though there's no action, no tits either, the leading girl is flatter than Ekin. Watch out for the guy who's in love with her, he's a trip. |
||||||||||
| Hero | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Yuen Biao | Director: | Corey Yuen | |||||||
| Kaneshiro Takeshi | Producer: | |||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| Yuen Biao becomes a gangster in Shanghia. And all hell breaks loose. | ||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| This has one of the highest body counts in
any movie I've ever seen. This is one of the greatest
movies ever made. I still can't believe it was put out by the Shaw Bros Studio. |
||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| Blood Bath And Beyond. Excellant action,
fantastic acting by Yuen Baio and his supporting ladies,
damn fine little Shaw Bros. Exstravaganza. |
||||||||||
| Heroic Trio | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Michelle Yeoh | Director: | Jonny To | |||||||
| Maggie Cheung | Producer: | |||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| Three female Superheroes battle the lord of the Underground to stop him from stealing babies. | ||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| With this cast I expected more. but of course my expectations may have been unrealistic. Watchable. | ||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| three hot babes apparently fight crime
somehow without breaking any nails, seems to involve alot
of pulleys. don't watch hopeing for plot to make sense, just enjoy the view. |
||||||||||
| High Risk | |||||||||||
| AKA: | |||||||||||
| Starring: | Jet Li | Director: | wong jing | ||||||||
| Jacky Chueng | Producer: | ||||||||||
| Description: | |||||||||||
| Kit (Li) is the bodyguard and stunt double
for Frankie (Cheung) a kung fu actor who does all his own
stunts. Terrorists take over the building they are in and Kit and Frankie must save the day. |
|||||||||||
| Yang | |||||||||||
| This is one of the funnyest Hong Kong movies I've ever seen. Jacky Chueng does a great Jackie Chan impersonation. | |||||||||||
| Ying | |||||||||||
| cool, funny and loads of excellant action
scenes. a must for all fans of action, drama, romance,
kids flicks, porn and general mayhem. |
|||||||||||
| Hitman | |||||||||||
| AKA: | King of Killers | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Jet Li | Eric Tsang | Director: | Stephen Tung Wai | |||||||
| Simon Yam | Gigi Leung | Producer: | |||||||||
| Description: | |||||||||||
| Jet Li plays an assassin hired by an old man
seeking revenge on a Japanese guy (You know their the bad
guy if they're Japanese or American). The guy sets up a reward for whoever kills the hitman who kills him. |
|||||||||||
| Yang | |||||||||||
| A good film teaches as well as entertains.
Here's what I learned from this film. In Hong Kong they
have hotels just for hitmen, (It must be a Union Thing), Mainland killers Dress bad and only charge $40,000. Hong Kong killers dress cool and charge more, so much more that the $100,000,000 contract didn't draw 1 real Hong Kong killer, Although it did draw the Japanese Hitmen, the Guilo Hitmen, Fu the mainland hitman, and of course the Missionary hitman. Overall the film drags a little (OK a lot) at 1st but the 2nd half rocks. |
|||||||||||
| Ying | |||||||||||
| Decent fights, even Simon Yam makes a good
showing, the fat guy is a bit unbelievable, but oh well,
a little over sappy but nice to watch, occassionally. |
|||||||||||
| Kids from Shaolin | |||||||||||
| AKA: | |||||||||||
| Starring: | Jet Li | Director: | Cheung Kam Yim | ||||||||
| Wong Chou Yin | Producer: | ||||||||||
| Description: | |||||||||||
| Seven Phoenixes for Seven Dragons, Seven
Boys brought up by a Shaolin Monk live next to Seven
Girls who's father is a great swordsman. The story involves the oldest pair (on both sides) needing the fathers approval for them together. |
|||||||||||
| Yang | |||||||||||
| The 80's were a strange time for China. They
were still trying to hold onto their cultural roots while
embracing the western world which makes for some weird movies. Mostly a kids movie except the father playing with his son's penis for a few hours. Weird |
|||||||||||
| Ying | |||||||||||
| if watching jet li fix up his adoptive
hundred year old dad with a ten year old girl is your
thing, this movie will do it for you. pediphilia gallops and wins the gold in this one. |
|||||||||||
| Knockoff | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Jean-Claude Van Damme | Director: | Tsui Hark | |||||||
| Rob Schnieder | Producer: | |||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| Van Damme and Schnieder have to stop international terrorists from putting bombs in everyones Jeans. | ||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| Despite the silly Premise this movie is great. The Ric Shah race is the best and funnyist chase scene ever done. | ||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| Wow, I've watched it so many times because I
love this odd little gem, but couldn't tell you a bit
about it, VD has jeans with bombs in them, and Micheal Wong is almost off'd, makes it enjoyable. |
||||||||||
| Little Supermen | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Cassanova Wong | Director: | ||||||||
| Producer: | ||||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| Cassanova Wong must stop Japanese agents from getting back their invasion plans. (Set in WW2) | ||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| This movie has everything I hate in chop
socky films. Fights in fields, Kids from acrobat school,
BAD dubbing with guy who does all the 70's and 80's films, and real bad acting (Even for Hong Kong Standards). But somehow it works. I've watched it 4 times. |
||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||

| This one wraps up the Shaolin Temple series. Jet Li finally meets the killer of his fater. | ||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| If you like the Shaolin Temple series you'll like it, if not you'll be confused, very confused. | ||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| I couldn't make heads or tails of this. Jet
kinda goes around, gets in some fights with the help of
his monk friends, the end. There's an icky snake death scene and some strange caligraphy contest too. If that's your thing, this movie has it. |

| Master Wong Vs Master Wong | |||||||||||
| AKA: | |||||||||||
| Starring: | Alan Tam | Teresa Mo | Ng Mantat | Director: | ? | ||||||
| Do Do Cheng | Eric tsang | Anthony Wong | Producer: | ||||||||
| Description: | |||||||||||
| Wong Fie Hung has forgotten how to do the
"No Shadow Kick" so when he is asked to move to
Canton he has Ah So pose as him so he can go chasing girls to prove to himself he loves Aunt Yee (don't ask) It turns out the men who invited him to Canton are useing his name to rip off the refugees. When Wong Fie Hung threatens to expose them they get a fake Wong Fie Hung to challange him. This movie makes me wonder if they can remove the wires from the actors, why can't they remove them from the telephone poles in the background? |
|||||||||||
| Yang | |||||||||||
| I loved this little gem. It was like a Hong Kong Zucker Bros film. | |||||||||||
| Ying | |||||||||||
| very funny and a bit sappy but nice spoof on the Once Upon a time in China flick. | |||||||||||
| Maximum Risk | |||||||||||
| AKA: | |||||||||||
| Starring: | Jean-Claude Van Damme | Director: | Ringo Lam | ||||||||
| Natasha Henstridge | Producer: | ||||||||||
| Description: | |||||||||||
| Van Damme finds out his identical twin has been murdered. So naturally he poses as him and everyone tries to kill him. | |||||||||||
| Yang | |||||||||||
| This movie made us swear off of Jean-Claude
Van Damme movies for 3 years. Van Damme does almost no
fighting and when he does the stunt doubles are obvious. Even his acting isn't up to his usual standards. |
|||||||||||
| Ying | |||||||||||
| what the hell was this suppose to be. VD on
Vacation? Fuck, take the antibiotics, it'll sting less
than sitting through this unbelievably action-LESS action movie. I think VD phoned it in, he barely arrived for the fights and that left it up to the weak script and thespian abilities of Natasha Henstridge. She of course being a rogue scholar amung the thespian crowd, unsung starlet of such fine films as my other left foot, the bridges of bob's county, and who could forget her immaculate portrayal of a beloved beaver in the ever forgetfull Gone with the Shim.If Ringo had a clue , he'd buy a boat and sail away, far away from VD, they don't mix, it's like Dad fucking Grandpa, it's icky. |
|||||||||||
| Method Man | |||||||||||
| AKA: | |||||||||||
| Starring: | Cassanova Wong | Director: | |||||||||
| Producer: | |||||||||||
| Description: | |||||||||||
| Cassanova goes after this one kid. So the kid and his sister fight him in a warehouse. | |||||||||||
| Yang | |||||||||||
| Great final fight, but the rest of the movie
was confusing mostly because they went out of their way
to make the bad guys and the good guys look alike. |
|||||||||||
| Ying | |||||||||||
| It's got cassanova wong, what else can be said. | |||||||||||
| Millionaires Express | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Sammo Hung | Director: | Sammo Hung | |||||||
| Everyone | Producer: | |||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| The plot is so wild and twisty no description can do it justice, but there is one. | ||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| This is one of the greatest films ever made.
Sammo got most of the HK stars who haven't gone
international to be in this gem. Amazingly they all worked together. |
||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| Sammo and the gang are out to redeem him. He
has a rag tag group of hookers go home with him to right
a wrong that caused him to leave. On the way a mounty(?) tries to capture him. Yuen Baio is in charge of the town Sammo left and is on his way back to. He tries to stop Sammo until it's revealed their on the same side. Lots of intentional and unintentional humor through out, funny movie. Why or what cynthia rothrock was doing there is beyond me. |
||||||||||
| Mortal Kombat | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Robin Shou | Director: | Paul Anderson | |||||||
| Chistopher Lambert | Producer: | |||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| The movie version of one of the greatest video games ever made. | ||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| Lame, The plot is as bad as you would
expect, The fights done by the guy who gave us Karate Kid
then reworked by Shou so they go from dull to great in the same fight. Good to watch for 6 minutes of the 2nd half of half the fights. |
||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| what can one say, but, geez, can't someone give shou a break. there wasn't even any good cleavage shots of the girls. | ||||||||||
| Mortal Kombat 2 | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Robin Shou | Director: | ||||||||
| Christopher Lambert | Producer: | |||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| The gang minus Johnny Cage who dies in the first 2 minutes. Must go on to face the second tournement in Outworld. | ||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| And I thought the plot of the first one was
thin. They added more special effects and made the fights
more outlandish. The result was completely incomprehencible. |
||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| what the hell was this suppose to be? did
they really pitch this to someone and they said yes?
shoot them please. they are causing the demise of western civilization. |
||||||||||
| Natural Born Killers | |||||||||||
| AKA: | |||||||||||
| Starring: | Woody Harrelson | Director: | Oliver Stone | ||||||||
| Juliette Lewis | Producer: | ||||||||||
| Description: | |||||||||||
| Spectacular look at the way the media portrays serial killers. | |||||||||||
| Yang | |||||||||||
| Its hard to believe that the man who brought
us "The Hand" could do a work of art like this.
Not much violence shown but a lot implied. |
|||||||||||
| Ying | |||||||||||
| all time best bonnie and clyde flick. it's the ultimate date flick, a true romantic classic. | |||||||||||
| Nemesis | |||||||||||
| AKA: | |||||||||||
| Starring: | Robert Patrick | Director: | Albert Pyun | ||||||||
| Producer: | |||||||||||
| Description: | |||||||||||
| An incomprehensible piece of turd. If you
see it in the video store hide it in the family section
where it can warp some fragile little minds. |
|||||||||||
| Yang | |||||||||||
| Watching an Albert Pyun Film is like
watching a Ed Wood film with no stock footage or a
Lippert film without the reptiles or a Spielburg film. Its possible but I wouldn't recommend it. |
|||||||||||
| Ying | |||||||||||
| I'll say this, if Albert Pyun were a fish,
he'd be a coconut. He makes the most interesting movies
into the worst mindnumbing, thought reducing, relentlessly dull, eye soar known to man. |
|||||||||||
| New Dragon Gate Inn | |||||||||||
| AKA: | |||||||||||
| Starring: | Brigitte Lin | Tony Leung | Donnie Yen | Director: | Li Hui Min | ||||||
| Maggie Cheung | Maggie Cheung | Producer: | Tsui Hark | ||||||||
| Description: | |||||||||||
| Brigitte Lin and Maggie Cheung have a strip
tease contest. Oh, and something about the Governments
Eunuchs taking on a band of heroes. |
|||||||||||
| Yang | |||||||||||
| Brigitte Lin and Maggie Cheung have a strip tease contest, need I say more. | |||||||||||
| Ying | |||||||||||
| That stripping scene is very hard to forget. Gret fights with Donnie Yen, Xiong Xin XIn, and a whole cast of cool people. very entertaining. |
|||||||||||
| No Retreat, No Surrender | |||||||||||
| AKA: | |||||||||||
| Starring: | Jean-Claude Van Damme | Director: | Corey Yuen | ||||||||
| Kurt McKinney | Producer: | ||||||||||
| Description: | |||||||||||
| A good wimp learns Gung-Fu and beats up the bad guys flick. Not the greatest but worth watching | |||||||||||
| Yang | |||||||||||
| This film pretty ordinary except for Van
Damme. It was made not long after he quit kickboxing and
he plays a kickboxer (Thats a strech) so when he enters the ring its real impressive. Unfortunately he is only in the movie briefly. |
|||||||||||
| Ying | |||||||||||
| forgetable. VD works up to being "with" the cast as he's the best actor of the bunch, that's says alot about the others abilities. |
|||||||||||
| On Deadly Ground | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Steven Seagal | Director: | Steven Seagal | |||||||
| Producer: | ||||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| Steven Seagal tries to save Alaska by blowing most of it up. | ||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| The writing and direction in this is worse
than an Ed Wood film. To make it even funnier Seagal
plays it super serious and the rest of the cast know they are in a bad movie and play it up. A must see. |
||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| Well, were to start. We gotta blow it and
blow it now. With your leading man having this mantra, is
it any wonder how Seagal gets funding for these things. I guess, Alaska will parish and fall lay to waste if Seagal doesn't go and blow up the oil fields. Somehow the toxic gas being released by these oil fields is harming everyone, but blowing them up and releasing the toxic gas' all at once won't. You got me. Seagal might have been on his knees for the pitch meeting to allow this slight logic lapse by. I thought when Danny Glover takes on Jet Li in in LW 4 , Danny looked to be , well, politely saying, SLOW. But Seagal goes on further, he has all his opponents stand still. I mean it, they don't move until a hand comes over from the director to motion which way to fall. Enjoy at your own risk, it's only good for a laugh. |
||||||||||
| Once upon a Time in China | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Jet Li | Yuen Baio | Director: | Tsui Hark | ||||||
| Rosamand Kwan | Producer: | |||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| Wong Fai-Hung (Jet Li) fights the Sammo gang in a quest for China's Freedom. 1st of 6 in the series. | ||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| Epic Story with Great Kung Fu, | ||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| Yuen Baio wanders around selling tickets I
guess, gets in some fights and ends up friends with one
of Wong's Lam'ers. While I like Yuen Baio, , I couldn't tell you the plot of this one, Wong and all of China hate foreigners and try to drive them out is probably a good guess. |
||||||||||
| Once Upon A
Time in China and America |
||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Jet Li | Director: | Sammo Hung | |||||||
| Rosamand Kwan | Producer: | |||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| Jet Li comes back as Wong Fei Hung this time in the the old west. | ||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| My Personal favorite of the series. | ||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| Super Cool. | ||||||||||
| Once Upon a Time in China II | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Jet Li | Director: | Tsui Hark | |||||||
| Rosamand Kwan | Producer: | |||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| Jet Li is Wong Fei Hung in the second movie in the series of six. | ||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| Pretty Cool, It unites the Lam'ers. | ||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| Donnie Yen shows up for some reason, he's
good but inexplicably there. Fei Hung tries to save china
from bad imperialists with the aid of dr.Sun Yat Tam, I guess that's why he's there. Ah Foo has a bad day at the medical conference and there's more general silliness about him having a crush on Aunt Yee. Xiong Xin Xin plays the leader of the White Lotus Sect who's surprisingly against the White Foreigners, maybe a name change would help them, he was nominated for best new comer by the HKF people for this dispite being in movies for over 4 years by this time. |
||||||||||
| Once Upon a Time in China III | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Jet Li | Director: | Tsui Hark | |||||||
| Rosamand Kwan | Producer: | |||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| Jet Li is Wong Fei Hung in the Third of the series of Six | ||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| Ok, here we go, clubfoot shows up to save a
dieing movie. Apparently Aunt Yee has been inadvertantly
courting a russian gay drum major, who gives her a movie camera. She films some stuff. That seemed to be Tsui Hark's motto, If I film it, It's a movie. The bits with clubfoot are good, the bits of silliness with aunt yee and wong fei hung are good, the other stuff is weird and incoherent, I think it was going to be a different movie and they filmed two seperate ones and pieced them together to be one. Less prechy than the other two but a bit lopsided. |
||||||||||
| Once Upon a Time in China IV | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Chiu Man Chuk | Director: | Tsui Hark | |||||||
| Rosamand Kwan | Producer: | |||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| Jet Li is not Wong Fei Hung in the Forth of the series of six. | ||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| We recently got a dubbed version of this
other than adding a great amount of humor to the movie
thanks to the ridiculous voice "talent", it really didn't help. |
||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| ZWZ takes over nicely for Jet Li as The Wong
Guy, If I had subtitles on this it would help, aparently
Wong is concerned over the paper all missing from his toilet stall. Clubfoot and the boys go in search of bad paintings, wire fu, inexplicable chases and of course, carrots. You're on your own with this one. |
||||||||||
| Once Upon a Time in China V | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Chiu Man Chuk | Director: | Tsui Hark | |||||||
| Producer: | ||||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| ZWZ is The Wong Guy.It has something to do with pirates. | ||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| This is definitely one of the sillyer ones in the series. | ||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| Well, get ready, Wong and the boys show up at a rice wherehouse, then give their boat tickets to some strangers, then go back somewhere, not sure where, then not much goes on until they decide that what Wong And Aunt Yee need to spice up their relationship is , Wong being a pirate, I'm not sure why, it must get her hot. The Wong boys , The lam'ers, try to learn how to use guns, then dress up as pirates and sail away. Get into fights with other pirates, then come home, The pirates then stop by and Wong tries to blow them up and clubfoot shows them his ass. They run away. The end. |

| Operation Condor | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Jackie Chan | Director: | Carol Cheng | |||||||
| ? | Producer: | |||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| Jackie is a secret agent going after buried Nazi gold. | ||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| Full Jackie Stunt Fu. Stunts, Comedy, and
Kung Fu. If you like Kung Fu movies where something
actually happens (Other than two guys in a field saying bad dialog) this is a must see. |
||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| Well, if I remember right, this has one of
the few Jackie vs. a band of evil chicks in it. Oh,
that's 2, this isn't that one. too bad. |
||||||||||
| Operation Condor 2 | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Jackie Chan | Director: | Jackie Chan | |||||||
| Rosamand Kwan | Producer: | |||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| Jackie takes on a cave full of Monks in order to get the armour of the gods. | ||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| Originally Cynthia Rothrock was going to
take Jackie on in the final battle sequence but she
didn't want to break her reputation for being in really bad movies. |
||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| Protector | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Jackie Chan | Director: | ||||||||
| Danny Aillello | Producer: | |||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| Jackie Chan and Danny Aillello are cops. That's as far as they got in the script meeting. | ||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| The worst Jackie Chan Movie made. | ||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| sucks beyond sucking. even a hooker would
turn it down. please, danny aillelo, the fat turd of bad tv flicks, even jackie's stuntmen laughed at his acting ability. |
||||||||||
| Rapid Fire | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Brandon Lee | Director: | Dwight Little | |||||||
| Powers Boothe | Producer: | |||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| Chicago cop (Booth) needs a LA art student (Lee) to break up the Italian/Asian mafia. | ||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| Called "The Best Hong Kong Movie made
in Hollywood" it has all the action with better
camera work and choreography than Hong Kong movies of the time. |
||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| Good fights, good action, ridiculous over acting and alot of needless sappy bits. Not bad for an action movie. | ||||||||||
| Replacement Killers | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Chow Yun Fat | Director: | Antonio Fuqua | |||||||
| Mira Sorvino | Producer: | |||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| An Assasin John Lee (Fat) is ordered to kill
a cops 5 year old son. When he refuses the Asian mob goes
after him and the only one he can get to help him is a small time forger (Servino). |
||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| I have mixed feelings about this one. It's a
kick ass little film however it was marketed as a John
Woo film and that made me sit through all of Woo's bird droppings. If I had known Woo had almost nothing to do with it I would have loved it. |
||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| Well after twelve viewings, I now have a
plot, it took a few. Don't get me wrong, this is very
entertaining and good action, nice pacing ect. Just I couldn't figure out where the hell it was taking place or why. Now I do! Mr. Chow is hired assassin, if he does a certain amount of jobs for some fat chinese guy, he'll be done and his family will be happy? But he doesn't want to kill some cops son, cop is Henry portait of a serial killer guy, he does an excellant job in this movie, I actually think he might be able to act, who knew. Anyhoo, Chow meets up with Mira Sorvino to get a passport from her so he can go save his family, then all hell breaks loose and we have a cool action flick erupting on our little tv scene. yippey. overall, it needed a naked mira sorvino, but other than that it was a good flick, made better by no damn Woo. |
||||||||||
| Rumble in the Bronx | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Jackie Chan | Director: | Stanley Tong | |||||||
| Francoise Yip | Producer: | |||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| Jackie (Jackie) comes to America to attend his Uncles wedding and gets inbetween a gang and some diamond thieves. | ||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| Jackie's latest attempt to break into the
American market by filming in the most American city of
Vancouver. Silly and plotless, Jackie turns it into a must see. With great stunts, really bad dialog (Van Damme wouldn't say lines this bad) and great fights |
||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| Mindless, action pact, death defying,
thrilling and always entertaining. Lots of good fights
and action sequences, bad dubbing and really bad acting make for one of Jackie's best. |
||||||||||
| Rush Hour | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Jackie Chan | Director: | Brett Ratner | |||||||
| Chris Tucker | Producer: | |||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan team up to save the Hong Kong counselate's duaghter who has been kidnapped. | ||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| Although it was a huge box office smash, I
personally thought Tucker and Chan were both so far over
the top it took away from the movie. But I have watched it several times so its still a pretty good film. |
||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| Jackie is funny and does a good job trying
to salvage this thing. Chris Tucker is funny and also
tries. Unfortunately, one has to be made to look bad or it wouldn't be an american buddy flick, so, they pick Jackie, I guess the producers thought the one who could kick their asses was a good choice to pick on? Entertaining but annoying at the same time, if that's possible. The fights a brief, the jokes go on to the point of no return, but somehow these two do a good job trying not to be brought down by a rather poor directing and editing job. If they hadn't gone out of their way to make Jackie look like he's losing face, I would have enjoyed it alot more. |
||||||||||
| Sabotoge | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Mark Decascos | Tony Todd | Director: | |||||||
| Carrie Ann Moss | Producer: | |||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| Tony Todd is an assasin with a really big
gun.(It needs anchor bolts) He kills Decascos employer
and Decascos needs to work through a web of CIA plots with the help of Carrie-Anne Moss and the FBI to get him. |
||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| Wow, a decent Decascos film, I thought he
only made two types- kick ass (Drive) or suck ass almost
everything else. This one was watchable. |
||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| One can actually sit through this Dacascos flick, but not twice. | ||||||||||
| Seven Samurai | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Toshiro Mifune | Director: | Akira Kurosawa | |||||||
| Takashi Shimura | Producer: | |||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| A farming village hires 6 and 1/2 Samurai to defend them from 40 marauders. | ||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| Wow! This had everything Action, Romance,
Comedy, Drama, lacking in Porn but there was a perfect
spot for it. I guess in the 50's the censors kind of looked down on that. A truely great movie |
||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| cool flick with mifune san playing for laughs for once. highly entertaining saga of life in feudal japan. | ||||||||||
| Shootfighter | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Bolo Yeung | Director: | ||||||||
| Producer: | ||||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| Bolo's students get lured into Shootfighting (a commercial deathmatch) by Bolo's enemy. Bolo has to go rescue them. | ||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| Although the story is stupid and the
co-stars are bad, this film shows off Bolo's skills well.
If your a Bolo fan this is a must see. |
||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| Only good for Bolo's fight scene. The rest
is a love story about his two star male students who must
go to mexico to prove their love to each other and Bolo.They get into some fights in a tournament and then bring Bolo down to prevent a political cover up that involves a wrestler, a goat, a midget and his dog, and of course president nixon. Bolo kicks butt in maybe four scenes, no new coat for this one though. |
||||||||||
| Shootfighter II | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Bolo Yeung | Director: | ||||||||
| Producer: | ||||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| Shootfighting matches have started up again,
this time by Bolo's brother. Bolo and his students have
been recruited by the police to shut it down. |
||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| Once again nothing to this movie but it shows off Bolo well. | ||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| Well, Bolo speaks, briefly, possibly dubbed.
If we could get him in the movie it woulda helped. Most
of the flick is about his very gay students going to miami to do some guys in a tournament to help some undercover cop who's saused out in two seconds.Bolo got a new jacket for this one! Random task is his brother. |
||||||||||
| Skinny Tiger & Fatty Dragon | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Sammo Hung | Carrie Ng | Director: | Lau Ka Wang | ||||||
| Karl Macka | Yung Wanda Jessica | Producer: | ||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| Sammo and Macka are cops. After busting a
major crime boss they have to deside if they want to stay
in Hong Kong and testify or move to Macua and let two girls open up a karoakee bar for them. |
||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| Sammo is great in this one. He's as funny as he was in his stuff with Jackie Chan. | ||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| Whoa, it was funny weird and odd all at the
same time. More Sammo mindless stuff but it's kept
entertaining by him and Karl Maka. |
||||||||||
| Sudden Death | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Jean-Claude Van Damme | Director: | Peter Hyams | |||||||
| Powers Boothe | Producer: | |||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| Van Damme must stop terrorists from blowing up a hockey arena with 17,000 fans during the Stanley Cup. | ||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| I was watching the fights and a hockey game
broke out. This was a good action flick, however it
didn't show off what Van Damme can do, Bruce Willis or Swarzenegger could have stared. Oddly, Van Dammes acting was better than usual. |
||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| You said it best, I was watching the fights
and a Hockey Game broke out. Not bad if at all plausible
endeavor by our man, VD. |
||||||||||
| The Base | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Mark Decascos | Director: | ||||||||
| Producer: | ||||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| Decascos is an Army Intelligence Officer,
who infiltrates a squad who's sargent wants to be the
GodFather of LA's drug dealers. An enjoyable effort by Decascos. |
||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| Another watchable Decascos film. That brings the total up to 3. | ||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| Differing opinions here. It's tolerable in
that it ain't the worst Dacascos flick but jesus this has
weird gay shit sprewing from it's rectum.I didn't really like it, it just didn't make me feel dirty like double dragons. |
||||||||||
| The Blade | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Zhao Wen Zhou | Director: | Tsui Hark | |||||||
| Producer: | ||||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| Some girl wants two guys to fight for her, when they do they end up destroying most of Imperial China | ||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| The chicks dig it, Guys are baffled. | ||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| Xiong Xin Xin, Moses Chan and a whole cast
of guys beat each other up and get half naked all over
the place. It's a chick flick but one the ladies will love if you play it for them |
||||||||||
| The Chinese Feast | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Leslie Cheung | Director: | Tsui Hark | |||||||
| Producer: | ||||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| A washed out master chef must regain his
confidence and learn to love cooking again for a final
cook off between good and evil. |
||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| OK so we've heard this plot a thousand times
before. but never about Cantonese Chefs. This film proves
the saying that the only thing on four legs they won't eat in Hong Kong is the table. |
||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| Some guys cook for some reason, nobody wants
to eat this shit. Xiong Xin Xin plays the evil opposing chef? Why is beyond me, Tsui Hark musta had something on all these people to get them in this weird little, but actually entertaining in a car accident kind of way, flick. |
||||||||||
| The Crow | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Brandon Lee | Director: | Alex Proyas | |||||||
| Ernie Hudson | Producer: | |||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| Brandon Lee's final film. Eric Draven(Lee)
comes back from the dead to revenge the killing of
himself and his girlfriend. |
||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| When I first saw this film I wanted to hate
it. But it was so Dark and the performances were so good
it became one of my favorates. |
||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| one of the best us made action flicks ever. | ||||||||||
| The Crow: Stairway to Heaven | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Mark Decascos | Director: | ? | |||||||
| Who Cares | Producer: | |||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| Made for TV remake of Brandon Lee's "The Crow". | ||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| Have you ever wondered what the THE CROW
would be like if it were brightly lite. The cartoon like
villians were replaced by guys who lost their jobs at Denny's. And no body count. Niether did I but thats what this movie is. |
||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| Made for tv by your local pta chapter on lithium. crap! | ||||||||||
| The Deadly Camp | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Anthony Wong | Director: | ? | |||||||
| Producer: | ||||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| A Hong Kong version of the B horror formula
Campers get offed one by one by a mutant family. Oddly
enough this is better than most of the American films with the same plot. It is helped by the fact that the mutant kid didn't really look human (It was an exellent casting job). Be warned the storyline is tighter you would expect from either Hong Kong movies or B horror films. |
||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| This plot was the tightest I'd ever seen in
a horror film, It's hard to believe it came from Hong
Kong. Everything that happens in the beginning is tied to the end, what a concept. |
||||||||||

||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| Although it looks like Tsui Hark is making
fun every film he and Li made together this the first one
time they worked together. I thought it was one the funniest Jet Li films ever. Make sure you pick up a version with subtitles, the sound guy phoned it in |
||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| Nice movie, saved Jet from becoming america's greatest star since mario van peoples. | ||||||||||

| Holy Wire Fu Batman, Big Budget Wire Fu
flick. I love good Wire Fu and technically this was the
best. If they had had real Kung Fu artists on the wires I would have creamed my jeans. |
||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| the movie that made drew barrymoore think
she can do kung fu too. what's next. golden fighting
girls with betty white being "trained" by the Yuen clan. please. this movie does rock though, excellent to exercise to, and pretty much get a good twenty to thirty minute nap in the middle before the main blow out finale. |

| 5 hitmen work for Simon Yam (Simon Yam) then find out they have to kill each other. | |||||||||||
| Yang | |||||||||||
| Not a lot of action but the story was good enough so I read all the subtitles (And I hate reading subtitles) | |||||||||||
| Ying | |||||||||||
| Still can't get that damn little dittie outa
me head. catchy theme tune, cool killers, hacky sack and
some goofy stuff. a good flick for the usually naked Yam. |
|||||||||||
| The Return of the 5 Deadly Venoms | |||||||||||

| 4 guys are crippled by a evil man and his

3 years then come back for revenge. |
|||||||||||
| Yang | |||||||||||
| A guy has his wife's legs cut off and his
son arms chopped off because he is 5 minutes late for a
meeting. And that's in the first 3 minutes of the film. It just doesn't get any better than this. |
|||||||||||
| Ying | |||||||||||
| hilarious, heart warming, sweet little kung
fu flick, no discerning gayness anywhere. you won't be
ashamed of having it in your collection. |

| Yang | |||||||||||
| This is f**ing great. The beginning is funny
as hell, the middle great drama and the end is a huge
fight. And all these elements blend somehow. |
|||||||||||
| Ying | |||||||||||

||||||||||
| Twin Dragons | ||||||||||

| Jackie Chan | Producer: | |||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| Stealing the script from Double Impact. The
Chans (Chan) are twins seperated at birth and reunited in
Hong Kong to fight the Triads. |
||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| This movie shows if done right the Double role gimmick can be great. And this is the best I've ever seen it done. | ||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| A violinist, pianist, I dunno takes on the bad guys his twin sends around by mistake. | ||||||||||
| Warriors Two | ||||||||||

| Cassanova Wong | Producer: | |||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| We only have the non-dubbed, non-subtitled version so I honestly couldn't tell you what is going on in this flick. | ||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| It's rare that I will sit through a movie in
a language I don't understand. But this had enough action
and action humor that I watched most of it. I would love to see a dubbed or sub titled version. |
||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| It's got cassanova wong, what else can be
said. Oh yeah, him and lam ching ying get in a hella good
fight as master and student. |
||||||||||
| Wheels on Meals | ||||||||||
| AKA: | ||||||||||
| Starring: | Jackie Chan | Director: | ? | |||||||
| Yuen Biao | Producer: | |||||||||
| Description: | ||||||||||
| Come to think of it, I really don't know what the plot of this one is. But its sure fun to watch. | ||||||||||
| Yang | ||||||||||
| This movie shows that talent can overcome a
low budget. Good acting (For a dubbed Hong Kong flick)
and good stunts. (Jackie went out of his way to show that he and Yeun Baoi did them) make this a fun movie. |
||||||||||
| Ying | ||||||||||
| loads of action, good fights and it has chan, yuen and hung. | ||||||||||

| Yuen Biao | Producer: | ||||||||||
| Description: | |||||||||||
| Jackie gets amnesia and gets caught up in a world of spies. | |||||||||||
| Yang | |||||||||||
| Fantastic. Jackie gets in a 45 minute fight
on top of a skyscraper, falls down the same skyscraper,
wins a baha race dressed as a African tribesman, gets in a car chase, and gets the girl in the end. |
|||||||||||
| Ying | |||||||||||
| Groovy fight at the end on the building. One, if not the favorite Jackie movie of mine. | |||||||||||
| Wicked City | |||||||||||
| AKA: | |||||||||||
| Starring: | Jacky Cheung | Michelle Li | Director: | Peter Mak | |||||||
| Leon Lai | Producer: | Raymond Lee | |||||||||
| Description: | |||||||||||
| Reptoids are trying to take over Asia. And Leon and Jacky must stop them. | |||||||||||
| Yang | |||||||||||
| Two of Asia's biggest Pop Stars, Tsui Hark
as Producer, based on a one of Asia's biggest comic
strips. How could you go wrong? I mean it, how did they go wrong? Find the man responcible and bring me his head. |
|||||||||||
| Ying | |||||||||||
| Leon and Jackie, two of the sky kings unite
for the freakin' weirdest flick i've seen to date. a girl
turns herself into a pinball machine so the evil bad guy can fuck her and get a full tilt. it's unique. and bad! |
|||||||||||
| Wonder 7 | |||||||||||
| AKA: | |||||||||||
| Starring: | Michelle Yeoh | Kent Cheng | Roger Kwok | Director: | Ching Siu Tung | ||||||
| Li Ning | Xin | Andy Hui | Producer: | Catherine Hun | |||||||
| Description: | |||||||||||
| I haven't the faintest clue what is going on in this film. But it has a lot of action. | |||||||||||
| Yang | |||||||||||
| If Andrew Blake made Kung Fu movies they
would be like this. Bueatiful to watch but after they
finish you have no idea what happened. |
|||||||||||
| Ying | |||||||||||
| Umm, ditto. Good movie, but no plot I think. Hard to say, maybe it got blown up. |
|||||||||||
| Yes, Madam | |||||||||||
| AKA: | |||||||||||
| Starring: | Michelle Yeoh | Tsui Hark | Director: | Corey Yuen | |||||||
| Cynthia Rothrock | Producer: | Sammo Hung | |||||||||
| Description: | |||||||||||
| Michelle Yeoh (Michelle Chan in the credits)
and Cynthia Rothrock Team up with Tsui Hark and Sammo
Hung to take on the bad guys. There is some mention about a piece of MicroFilm but I didn't really catch that. |
|||||||||||
| Yang | |||||||||||
| For anyone who is against dubbing, this film
will change your mind. This film made me believe Cynthia
Rothrock could act! That's more improbable than a man flying. |
|||||||||||
| Ying | |||||||||||
| You got me but it's fun to watch. The girls
kick some major butt and tsui hark luckly stays clothed.
He's one ugly guy. |
|||||||||||
