I stumbled across this, literally, 5 minutes ago. Very cool. What can you say? David Duchovny Blog
For all those 'shippers out there wondering which were the best relationship episodes to rewatch before the new movie, try The Relationship Episode Guide, which gives a very succinct and focused spin on all seven seasons. That's right, I said all *seven*. This person believes that seasons 8 and 9 did not happen, and her explanation for this is at the bottom of the page, and should not be missed.
Related to the opinions expressed above, this website: Alternate Season 8, is made by a group of people who felt that season 8 could have been better, but opportunities were missed. So they *rewrote* all of the episodes, adding scenes, subtracting scenes, sometimes brilliantly (I'm thinking of their version of Redrum in particular) and sometimes only in small ways. *Please do not alert the lawyers!* (My opinion? Skinner should have been demoted after Without, from AD to Scully's partner on the X-Files--I can just picture the scene in my head where Kersh says 'you don't listen to me? your theories sound like Mulder's? Fine. You can go be on the x-files.'--That way it wouldn't have felt so much that they were replacing Mulder with a new actor (Mulder 2.0), Mitch Pileggi is a great enough actor to have carried it off...and you have to feel sorry for Robert Patrick...you really do. What a bitch of a position to put an actor into. Everyone *hated* him....anyway, it didn't happen that way.)
Again, related to above, but also different, is this website: Virtual Season 15. I was absolutely dumbfounded when I ran across this less than a week ago. They say, take everything after Je Souhaite, the one before Mulder was abducted, and say it never happened. What if things had continued on the way they were going? So they wrote their own virtual seasons 8-15 of case files. Yes, they're still going. Complete with myth arc episodes, season finales, and the whole shebang. Part of me likens them to the people they say are still hiding out in their fox holes, and don't know that the Vietnam war is over, but a bigger part of me admires their chutzpah. (funny note: I e-mailed the link to this site to my mom, and she e-mailed back, 'Wow. Thanks Bon. Now I have something to do all winter when it's boring and there are no weeds to pull.')
