| My name is Nathan Goodrich.
I'd tell you my age, but it has the nastiest habit of changing every now
and again, and I don't feel like having to update the web page that frequently.
People keep trying to tell me my height, and it always ends up somewhere
between 5'10" and 6'1" (don't ask me why they can't figure it out).
Weight bounces somewhere around 145-155, even though I eat like a horse.
I was born in Seoul, South Korea (don't get any funny ideas...I'm not an
Asian) but my parents moved out of there fast, and I grew up in northwest
Oregon, where we see the sun...occasionally. I like it there, though.
Everywhere else I've been is WAY too dry...even the humid places because
it doesn't count if it makes you feel icky. That refers to Texas,
where I went on my mission. (Fort Worth Mission)
My major here at BYU is Computer Science, and I'm in my junior year, I suppose. That still seems weird. I keep thinking about grad school, however, and so I'll probably be here until my sci-fi stories come true. I've been on the staff of The Leading Edge for over four years now, if you let me count my mission, and have read PLENTY of slushpile stories in my day. It's almost a relief to read a rough draft, so you can at least say that the author doesn't consider it finished yet. If you want some TLE slushpile horror stories, just ask, although I try to promptly blot most of them out. I am also a runner...Cross Country style. In high school, my team took 3rd in State (We are in the middle size division) and were (our coach still says) the best CC team that our little po-dunk school has ever had. Running's cool (most of you probably think I'm really half-baked now). Since all that doesn't really say very much, I'll give my PRs: 1500m: 4:26 (track time)
Some of my favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy authors:
As far as my writing interests go,
I lean strongly towards fantasy, although sci-fi isn't out of my realm...I
just really like swords and dragons and stuff. I've got a set of
characters that I've been bouncing around ever since halfway through high
school, and I'd like to say they're in final version, but I'm not quite
that naive.
