Flesh Ripping Sonic Torment
(No picture available)
The first demo by Carcass, and i have no opinions whatsoever
as i have never heard it. Featured Sanjiv on vocals, Jeff on bass,
Bill on guitar, and Ken on drums.
Reek of Putrefaction
1988
The music is killer but the production sucks bad, like Sepultura's
Morbid Visions. My favorite song is Pyosisified (Rotten to the Gore).
There's some damn cool sound effects too, like the wailing note at the
beginning of the CD.
The Peel Sessions
1989
This CD kicks ass...ok the production sucks (once again)
but that's because these songs were recorded live for a radio broadcast
in England.
Symphonies
of Sickness
(No
picture available)
1989
Much better production this time. My favorite song
here is Embryonic Necropsy and Devourment...has a killer, albeit simple,
opening riff. Exhume to Consume and Reek of Putrefaction kick ass
also.
Necroticism: Descanting the Insalubrious
1991
This has got to be one of the best musical compositions ever
recorded...the production is miles ahead of their previous efforts and
the music...the music is simply amazing. Lyrically Carcass amazes
here, but this time the music is so incredible that you just have to sit
back and wonder why Bill Steer isn't publicly acknowledged as one of the
greatest guitarists of all time (even though he is...). My favorite
songs here are Incarnated Solvent Abuse, Corporeal Jigsore Quandray, and
Inpropagation, which has to be the single best sone ever written.
Tools of the Trade EP
1992
Finally found this one. Got it on E-bay (great place to search for Carcass stuff). Great stuff here, particularly the new cut of Pyosified. You can also find these tracks on the re-release of Necroticism
and Wake Up and Smell the...Carcass.
Heartwork
1994
Whoa. Any aspiring musicians wanna hear what a
properly-mixed and produced album sounds like? This is it. The guitars
sound like they could grind through solid rock! I didn't like the change
in the lyrics all that much at first, i kinda liked the huge-ass words
Jeff was using hehe. But after a few listens I decided that Carcass scored
another bullseye here, the lyrics seeming to match the music, where in
the past it was the other way around. Here my favorite songs are Buried
Dreams (Amott's solo in this song is one of the best i've ever heard),
No Love Lost, and Heartwork.
The Heartwork EP
1994
Once again, i don't have this but i
have the songs that are on it...and once again they're awesome (what else
would you expect?). This Is Your Life is a killer song, and Rot 'N
Roll is pretty damn good in its own right.
Swansong
1996
Columbia must die now. They made us
wait almost a year for this one...but thats a story which i refuse to go
into. Swansong is a fitting end to the Carcass legacy, taking the Heartwork
sound one step further. My favorite tracks here are Black Star, Go to Hell,
and R**k the Vote.
Wake Up And Smell The...Carcass
1996
A cool as hell compilation containing
loads of cool stuff from Carcass's career. It includes 5 songs not included
on Swansong, 4 more "live" radio songs, and various other songs from rare
EPs and collections. My favorite songs from this one are: Emotional Flatline,
Blood Splattered Banner, and This is Your Life.

1997
This is a Japanese 2-CD import that
was released in November of 1997. It isn't much different from Wake Up...,
but it does have 5 live songs that are killer. Disc 1 has 18 studio tracks,
and Disc 2 has the 5 extra Swansong tracks and 4 radio tracks from Wake
Up... along with the 5 live songs. My favorite songs from this album have
to be the 5 live tracks, Corporeal Jigsore Quandray, Incarnated Solvent
Abuse, Exhume to Consume, Carnal Forge, and Heartwork.
