Stonewall---real name Louis Hamilton---was one of the three WWII veterans who signed on with Freedom Force some time after its creation. His ability was that he could not be knocked down (yes, really), and as he was a rather large and muscular man, was fairly strong and resilient. Unfortunately for him, he was knocked down---twice---by Storm of all people (mostly through trickery, however), so Stoney doesn't tend to get a whole lot of respect, which is a shame. He was never given much of an opportunity to speak or do much, so it's difficult to describe his personality, but from what snippets we did see, it's clear that he was a quiet, personable, and rather intellectual man. He was also a very moral person, for when the three veterans were occupied in their vigilante activities prior to joining Freedom Force, it was Stonewall who suggested that they let Storm go free, though he was outvoted.

Regrettably, Stonewall died on the team's mission to Muir Island, electrocuted by Donald Pierce (Uncanny X-Men 255). At least he had a heroic death, rescuing Mystique, though that's rather cold comfort when losing an interesting character who simply didn't get enough spotlight (he only showed up in a total of 11 issues, one of which was just a brief background appearance; in fact, he had a speaking role in only 6 issues). He was one of three FF team members to die in the line of duty.
Recently, he was shown as a ghost in the afterlife, along with Super Sabre, Pyro, and others.
Issues which highlight his character: Uncanny X-Men 215, 216, 255.
First Appearance: Uncanny X-Men 215
Final Appearance (alive): Uncanny X-Men 255
