Where to get other themes not created by me.
http://animetheme.vill.edu/ The ANIME DESKTOP THEME GURU! I bow down in all humbleness! I'm not worthy! Here are anime themes for a lot of major series- some of the coolest javascript programming EVER and the best anime themes. I just imitate!
http://www.howard-family.clara.net/wallace.htm - a Wallace and Gromit page that has a couple of themes for Wallace and Gromit.
Additional things for the desktop themes-
If you do not have microsoft plus, the program that easily installs all the parts of a desktop theme, download "Desktop Themes" shareware desktop theme manager published by Jonathan Potter at Left Side Software.
Steps for installing-
What do you do after you have downloaded it? Unzip the contents to C:/Program Files/Plus/Themes/
Then open your desktop theme program- usually located in control panel- and select MRU Robotech Theme/ VOH. Using the buttons to the side, you can choose what parts of the theme you wish to use. ie- the VOH theme has no sounds. If you want to keep the sounds you already have, deselect the "sounds" tab. Clicking on pointers sound, etc will show you the pointers and sounds that accompany the theme. Sometimes these won't show up until you have clicked Apply, but that's just when the program is being weird. Don't panic. If you wish to revert to the way your computer is before applying the theme (as there is no undo button) please save the "Current" theme before applying. Save it as something you'll remember- like MYTHEME!!!. You can always revert to it.
Most people agree Plus does a lousy job with backgrounds. You can open the picture you want with your web browser and right click it to set as wallpaper. Another way to do this is save a picture as a bitmap and put it in C:/Windows/ you can then select the picture in Display. You can get to display either by control panel, or by right clicking your desktop.
To alter sounds- go to control panel and click on sounds. Same for anything else. Click on "mouse" for pointers. Control panel can be fun!
To change icons- the main ones are included in display- click on the "Effects" tab at the top. Others- including shortcuts- can be altered by right clicking the existing icon and pushing a button marked "change shortcut" you can "browse" to find the icon you want. Some icons come in .ico individually, or are .dll files- meaning there are a lot of them together.
