Is Robotech feminist?
So you think Robotech was this big guy-robots-shooting-war-guy thing? You may be right, but I don't agree. Robotech seems more geared towards girls than guys to me.
First off, two of the main guys are sensitive, caring, loving and have big hair.
Rick is a wuss- it's true! He's too cute to be macho and he's got those big adoorable eyes:

He's the kind of guy girls like, the perfect boyfriend (well, after he stops being stupid and realizes he loves Lisa). Max too is a great guy. I've been looking for a Max all my life. Talented, cool, not at all self-centered- he falls in love with a woman trying to kill him and brings out the good in her.
Plus- look at all the strong women characters. Except for whining Minmei, all the other women are strong and intelligent. Lisa, Claudia, the Bridge Bunnies. Even the three girls who manned the rolling things for the first sheild tried out by Dr. Lang with Jedi-like reflexes. Robotech presents and abundance of women in charge.
Looks to me like the women are in charge. Gloval really doesn't do that much, you know. It's those girls who run the show.
