After micronizing Miriya spends
some time just wandering around the ship. Several times
she catches the eye of a certain ace pilot, Maximilliam
Sterling. "Nice" he says.
|

|
| Sterling is a certifiable piloting
"jenius". He was only just put in the ranks
under the newly appointed Rick Hunter. Max kicks some
serious ass. So much ass that he attracks the attention
of the Zentraedi. Word of him reaches their ace, Miriya,
and she tracks him down for a mano a WOmano fight. His
superior, seeing that the enemy has targeted him, tells
him to retreat. Thus his victory is not complete. |

|

|
| So Miriya is
wandering around Macross city, having been deposited
there by one of the Zentraedi. Finally she meets Max in a
video arcade. She is raking up major coinage by beating
the game she is playing. She is making even more than
Max, who has just been bragging to Rick about how easy it
is for him to beat video games. naturally he is impressed
by her skill- and of course her beauty. Max has a strange
way with women, and to get a date challenges her to a
game. |

|
| During the game
Miriya flashes back to her former fight with Max, and
realizes who he is. Startled by a second defeat, and
offended because he says the game wasn't too tough, she
tries to run in shame. Max quickly asks her for a date
before she runs away. |
 |
 |
Twice defeated by a
micronian (and the way she says 'micronian tells you how
disgusting they seem to her) Miriya is severly "put
out" to put it gently. Especially because of Max's
off-handed ease with which he beat her the second time.
It's infuriating. |
| On their date
Max waits for Miriya in the park, hoping his yet unamed
dream girl will show up. She does, with a big surprise- a
knife pointed at him! They fight one last time- three
being the charm. He defeats her once more and she,
totally ashamed, asks him to kill her. From here on it
gets a little cheesy, but I attribute that to American
translation. |
